How it works

Every card is one English Wikipedia article: its title, a two-sentence extract, the lead image when it is freely licensed, and a link back to the article. A pack holds 5 cards. You get packs two ways: 5 free packs every 12 hours when signed in, or a paid pack for 2.00 USDG on Robinhood Chain (chain 4663).

Opening a pack reveals the cards one at a time. They go straight into your inventory. Pick a handle and six favourites on your account to get a public profile at /u/handle.

Odds

Rarity comes from how many people read the article: English Wikipedia user pageviews over the last 30 complete days. Each card in a pack is an independent draw, first a tier by the weights below, then a card uniformly within that tier. Duplicates are possible. Free and paid packs use the same odds.

RarityViews / 30 daysPer card
CCommon< 3k55%
UCUncommon3k – <10k25%
RRare10k – <40k12%
SRSuper Rare40k – <100k5.5%
URUltra Rare100k – <250k2%
LLegendary≥ 250k0.5%

Separately, every drawn card has a 1% chance to be Gold. Gold belongs to that copy, not to the article, and shows as a foil frame. A Gold Legendary is 0.5% × 1% = 0.005% per card, about 1 in 20,000 cards: the rarest thing in the game. Tiers are recomputed when the card set is refreshed (roughly monthly), so an article can move up or down. Cards you already own stay yours.

Free packs

  • 5 free packs per account in each 12-hour window. Windows start at 00:00 and 12:00 UTC. Unused free packs do not carry over.
  • Within a window the packs unlock on a timer: the first right away, then each next one 5 min, 15 min, 45 min, 135 min after the previous claim. If an unlock would fall after the window ends, the refill comes first.
  • You must be signed in (X, email or wallet). Paid packs do not need an account.
  • Claims pass a quick Cloudflare Turnstile check. At most 15 free packs per network (IP) per window.
  • Cards from free packs carry a small “Free” tag. Otherwise they are identical, including the Gold chance.

Card stats

ATK (10–100) measures how much there is to say: the article's length in bytes from the MediaWiki API, on a log scale. 1 kB or less is 10, 250 kB or more is 100:

ATK = round(10 + 90 × clamp((ln bytes − ln 1000) / (ln 250000 − ln 1000), 0, 1))

DEF (10–100) measures how well the article has been reviewed: its best quality class across WikiProjects (PageAssessments API), plus a fixed −5…+5 offset derived from a hash of the title, so equal classes don't all tie.

Payments

A paid pack is one ERC-20 transfer of 2.00 USDG from your wallet to the treasury on Robinhood Chain. We only ever ask for a plain transfer, never an approval. If a site claiming to be wikidrop asks you to approve token spending, it is not us. The $TOKEN option, when live, works the same way at a 20% discount (1.60 USD worth).

After the transfer is mined, the server reads it from the chain and checks: it succeeded, it is a Transfer from the USDG (or TOKEN) contract, it went to the treasury, and the amount is at least the pack price. It then credits one pack to the account that owns the sending wallet (an account is created if the wallet is new). Each transaction hash opens one pack, once. If you close the tab after paying, open /open again or paste the hash into “Already paid?”.

Accounts

Sign in with X, an email magic link, or your wallet (Sign-In with Ethereum: a signed message, no gas, no transaction). One account can link all three, and you can unlink any of them as long as one remains. Linking a wallet that already received paid packs moves those cards into your account.

See Legal for licensing, the 18+ requirement and the fact that cards have no cash value.
